Wallingford

Well, the sun did shine (for at least 10 minutes!) over the weekend. Saturday was a lovely day for visiting the pretty town of Wallingford and wandering around their little festival BunkFest.

I loved their string of lampshade lights and visiting the donkeys!

And while popping in to House of Cards, I stumbled upon this boy's giftbag I designed years ago. It's produced by Glick and it's the first time I'd seen it in print! What a good day!

Goodbye summer, hello September

It's a shame to see the summer disappearing so rapidly, but I was excited to see my autumnal range of papers for magazine Quick Cards Made Easy hit the shelves. The Met Office is hinting there may be a warm, sunny weekend in store for us so maybe summer's not quite done with us yet!

I was very pleased to be sent a sample of this reindeer card I designed last year. It's by TMS (and if you're wondering it says 'Merry Christmas' in German!). I think they've done a pretty good job!

It was my birthday at the weekend! I loved all of my presents but was particularly excited to open this water bottle by designer Nina Jarema. It's part of a range called 'Folklore' for Wild & Wolf Ltd and was inspired by the villages and forests of the Ukraine. I love the gorgeous symmetrical patterns. Find more of her work here!

Every year I seem to spend the first part of Summer designing for kids. Must be because it's nice to design fun things after all the stress of Surtex! This year is no different and here's a little look at some of my latest designs, all ready for the selling season to begin again.

It's been a busy year so far preparing for the CHA show and Spring Fair among other projects and commissions. And now it's time once again for Surtex! I'm represented by Inspire by Design Ltd which can be found at booth 326. We've all been spending time creating new designs as well as lovely bags, banners and bunting for our stand's display. The show runs from 15th-17th May so pop along if you're in New York and visiting the show!

Scrapbooking goodies on sale!

I had a lovely surprise when a box full of samples arrived for me from Momenta, a scrapbooking company based in Northwood, USA. I love what they've done with my recent baby designs! It's a big, brand new range called Cuddle & Coo and includes photo albums, die cut frames, a baby shower kit, patterned papers and heaps of sticker sets. I particularly love the 3D sticker packs. I'm proud as punch!

Christmas gift boxes

After months of living out of boxes we've finally started unpacking and I discovered this forgotten set of Christmas boxes hidden away. It's rare I receive product samples, but this one was sent last year all the way from a company called Enchante in New York. I wish more companies would send samples, they're such a joy to receive!

As I mentioned in my last blog entry, it's been a hectic year so far! What with preparing for Spring Fair and Surtex, plus buying my first little home, I've been a busy bee! Here's a brief little look at some of the things I've been up to...
...well there was (and still is) plenty of decorating......and then there was Easter.......we all created huge promotional banners which hung from the ceiling on my agent's stand at Surtex in NYC in May this year. I created mine based on the baby range I'd been recently working on. The banners were such fun to do and it was fab to see them full size!......here's one of the designs I created for Surtex, a little snowman popping over to the city to catch up on last minute Christmas shopping...I was happy to see him and his set of friends get snapped up by a card company...
...and I think that just about brings us up to date!

A day in the sun!

Oh dear...I've rather neglected my blog of late! It's been a busy year so far, but thought it was about time I ended my long silence with tales of my weekend! It was a beautiful day on Saturday for wandering around market stalls in the sunshine. I took a trip over to Nottingham's old cattle market which now hosts antique auctions every Saturday morning. It's been years since I've been to an auction and I'd forgotten how much fun they are! No bargains to be had this week, but I did pick up a little footstool needing some TLC on a stall outside. I'm sure I don't need another project but I couldn't resist!

After some yummie crepes at Aubrey's Traditional Creperie in West End Arcade, we popped over to the art market 'Apples and Pears and Crafty Wares' at the Hopkinson Gallery on Station Street.

There were some gorgeous items for sale. I couldn't resist buying a little pendant from Little Blue Starfish's 'tea-time' range. Ellen designs and makes really cute, unusual jewelery. I loved her vintage range too! Some lovely cushions caught my eye on event founder's Curiosity.haus stall and I just had to find a home for one! All the stalls at 'Apples and Pears and Crafty Wares' are usually found at Sneinton Market on the fourth Saturday of every month.

And what sunny June day isn't topped off with a good old thunder and lightning storm?

Hello and goodbye to some oldies

Today I discovered my WH Smith jungle giftbag and wrap had disappeared from the shelves. I'm not disappointed though, it had a good run for several years! It will always have a special place in my heart as my first ever design I saw on the shelves in the UK.

While shopping in The Range today, I spotted these packs of Dovecraft Glamour and Winter Wonderland scrapbooking papers. These have been in the shops for a few years now but I love these little mini packs. They include designs from my fellow designer lovelies at RahRah Repeats, Pocketful of Patterns, Beth Doodles and Fatty Moe.

I have two designs in this pack (top left, bottom right)...
